‘Outfit’ is a word that never fails to inspire people. It not only shows the owner’s financial capability or aesthetic level, but also represents his personality as well as the attitude towards life.

The Chinese translation of ‘outfit’ is ‘Xing Tou’,the first character of which means ‘walking’ while the second means ‘first’. Thus, the whole word could be interpreted as ‘taking the lead’. As a noun, it also has the meaning of ‘professional dressing’, such as performers’ costumes. ‘Xing Tou’ could be a miniature of the accent, scenery, and zeitgeist of a certain area and era. To some extent, the model villa is an outfit, calling people’s attention and offering a platform to perform.

Whether amusing or serious, they are both forms of expression, and the complex logic behind the forms constitutes the localized nature of formal language. The villa, located in a high-end residential area in Zhengzhou, central China, is destined to have a relationship with Chinese culture.

Every time we talk about “minimalist’, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and John Pawson naturally come to our mind. I happened to fall in love with Mondrian once again recently. All these random causes meet with each other and finally lead to the current presentation of the space, shown by the structure and the decorating techniques. The design is the result of balancing different thoughts and voices, a strategy born from the collision of culture and market needs, and a well-told story. Of course, the details include the logic and methods of professional design, as well as preferences and experiences accumulated from years over years’ practice.

The house being sold in short period is an ideal result that every party would love to see. It needs to face aesthetic appreciation from a wider group of audiences. Therefore, after moderate guidance for the design, there should be balance of market strategies.
